Ever wondered what the ancient city of Rome looked like in the fourth century? Of course you have! Well now you can find out, thanks to a project at the University of Virginia, Rome Reborn . And I believe the plan is that soon you will be able to go there, in the online virtual world at Second Life .

As I uploaded the Prague pictures, I noticed on Flickr that the Flickr "Durnstein" group requested I add a few of the Durnstein pics to their group, which I did. Durnstein, as I know you recall, is on the Danube River, in Austria. Watched the Republican candidates debate last night. Let's see, what emotions come most to mind: outrage, frustration? Congressman Ron Paul hit the bull's eye on the question about morality when he protested the idea of pre-emptive wars. Sorry for the long absence from this post... will try to do better.

Snow Surprise Originally uploaded by johnnyVA . Mother Nature delivered a surprise today...about 4 inches of snow instead of the expected 1/4 inch of ice. People came out to enjoy the fluffy white stuff, take pictures, play in the snow. Not cold enough to last, though. It was starting to melt by evening.
